TAOS Event 2024
-
Launched in March 2024, TAOS was born out of a shared passion and desire to promote and transcend the Métiers d’Arts. The Lavish Attic is lucky enough to present the 6 unique pieces in our store.
-
TAOS was born out of the encounter of Olivier Gaud on one side, and Olivier and Dominique Vaucher, directors and founders of the renown Métiers d’Arts workshop Olivier Vaucher on the other.
-
Olivier Gaud, CEO of TAOS. Graduated from Geneva School of Watchmaking, he has gained experiences from Christie’s, Vacheron Constantin and Cartier.
-
It’s suggested to observe the watah as close as possible. Do not let go every detail. Imagine the time spent for trials and researches.
-
Exclusive TAOS hand decorations by Atelier Olivier Vaucher, Kaléidoscope reveals a rhythmic alternation of hardstone mosaic pieces, arrayed in the shape of a heart around a central, raised mother-of-pearl relief.
-
Stone mosaic inlay of Lapis Lazuli, marquetry of Turquoise and Tsavorite stones, engraved mother-of-pearl center, and engraved motif in white gold are there to complete the picture of Kaléidoscope.
-
TAOS stand for peacock in Ancient Greek. Introducing TAOS Envol Bleu, a unique timepiece featuring hand-engraved feathers covered in enamel, a flower-like silver-leaf paillon encircled with diamonds. Multiple layers, firings, details, and micro-engravings amplify the blooming of a delicate rosace pattern.
-
The middle bright blue of Envol Bleu is the paillonné enamel, where fine sheets of silver or gold are laid underneath the enamel, resulting in a shimmer of blue.
-
Ondes transcends its monochromatic appearance, harmonizing mechanics and art. The mother-of-pearl dial is engraved layer upon layer, seemingly endlessly, mirroring the patterns that adorn the movement that beats beneath it.
-
If you wonder the beauty of mother-of-pearl, Ondes has provided a breathtaking interpretation of the craftsmanship. There are no rooms for making a tiny mistake.
-
Euphorie displays a firework of gold and silver paillons overlayed in a multitude of enamel layers.
-
Out of Atelier Olivier Vaucher expectation, Euphorie is actually the one which takes the most time to finish. Each petal is too thin, too fine, too fragile. Holding it properly with a watch tool is challenging enough.
-
Can you guess the techique applied for the flowers? Hint: enamel.
-
Broderies lets the finesse of enamel explore new expressive territory. Hundreds of strands of molten enamel are laid out as so many segments of silk on lace The trompe-l’oeil is perfect, the impression of depth unique, and the detail surprising.
