Carl Suchy & Söhne June Event 2024
-
Welcome back Robert Punkenhofer, CEO of Carl Suchy & Söhne. He is also the co-founder of Vienna Art Week. He says: “There is no luxury without art. Art is what remains and will outlive us all. The search for timeless beauty, craftsmanship excellence, and creative ingenuity are what connects art and high-end watchmaking.”
-
Robert is finding a good location to display the Table Waltz Tourbillon. Lighting is important to unveil the beauty of art piece. Only a few luxury watch brands develop table clocks in addition to wristwatches.
-
The timeless design, created by the multi-award-winning Viennese designer Rainer Mutsch, is embodied by Viennese craftsmanship down to the smallest detail, such as the facet cut glass and the hand engraving in partnership with J. & L. Lobmeyr. Proudly made in Austria.
-
The dark, satin-finished case, milled from a single block of brass and refined using a special nickel-plating process, lends the table clock a simple elegance and powerful radiance. The escapement and oscillation system of the Table Waltz Tourbillon not only gives the watch an aesthetic advancement, but also a lively dynamic and additional technical dimension.
-
With the Belvedere Midnight & Titan, Carl Suchy & Söhne has expanded the Belvedere collection with two additional variants. The Belvedere Titan, as the name indicated, is made of titanium. Ideal for the sporting demands of an active life, yet supple and elegant with a matt sheen.
-
The Belvedere Midnight impresses with its deep black color scheme, the impressive shine of the resistant DLC coating and the striking fluted bezel. The golden second hand gives a subtle contrast over the moving date window.
-
A unique date display window changes position each day, transforming the look of the watch every twenty-four hours. The skeletonized hands and indexes light up brightly on the asymmetrical guilloché dial thanks to a generous application of SuperLumiNova, ensuring high legibility even in difficult lighting conditions.
-
The case back, made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, reveals the decorated automatic movement with a rotor featuring the micro-engraved facade of Belvedere Palace. The watch runs on the CSS201 caliber, which is built upon a Dubois Dépraz and delivers 42 hours of power reserve.
-
Use the pin to quickly adjust the moving date window. The screw-down crown allows water resistance up to one hundred meters.
-
Vienna by night offers endless possibilities – and so does Belvedere Night; a blue as deep as the famous river – held in timeless blue, the Belvedere Danube looks equally sporty as classic.
-
Robert is an internationally renowned art and design expert. He is responsible for more than 100 exhibitions and special projects. No wonder art elements are found. Viennese Modernism was strongly expressed through geometric shapes and symmetries, with minimalist and functional designs taking center stage.
-
Founded in 1822 by Austrian watchmaker Carl Suchy, the family enterprise soon became the most important watchmaking company of the Habsburg Monarchy, catering to the likes of Emperor Franz Joseph I, Empress Sisi and psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. In 2017, Austria’s imperial luxury watch was revived.
-
Produced in strictly limited special series of five watches a year, the Waltz N°1 Skeleton is the successful declination of the classic Waltz N°1. The dial’s open lines reveal just enough to anticipate the refinement of the ultra-thin skeleton automatic movement VMF 5401/180 by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier.
-
The Waltz N°1 Skeleton’s design fluidity was inspired by Austrian architect and designer Adolf Loos, who introduced the golden age of Viennese Modernism. the dial has been carefully openworked along the subtle horizontal and vertical lines and is adorned with the iconic rotating seconds-disc at 6 o’clock, which features the identical guilloche-pattern and is thus aligned with the rest of the dial as it waltzes in a perfect circle once per minute.
-
At the case back, the transparent sapphire glass fully displays the movement’s slender black PVD bridges and angles that have been finished by the hands of master craftsmen in hour-long meticulous precision work.
-
Viennese elegance can be found in every detail of the watch – from the curvature of the sapphire crystal, which matches the side profile of the 41,5mm case, to the sleek integrated lugs, and the applied minute and hour hands, which are set into the dial itself and curved upward to match the slope of the rehaut as it meets the baseband.
-
Every detail of the Waltz N°1 Moll is carefully considered and handcrafted to offer a unique experience that bridges the gap between Carl Suchy & Söhne’s rich history and modern aesthetics. Every full minute, the Carl Suchy & Söhne seconds disc harmonizes perfectly with the artfully guilloché pattern of the dial – a unique sight of perfect synchronicity.
-
Like Yin and Yang, the Waltz N°1 Day & Night seconds disc at 6 o’clock dances its circles. The watch is equipped with the ultra-slim automatic movement VMF 5401 (height 2.6 mm) with gold-plated micro-rotor , providing a power reserve of 48 hours.
-
Robert is wearing a classic Waltz N°1 with stainless steel case, the first model of the relaunched brand. At every full minute, the rotating seconds disc at 6 o’clock aligns with the pattern of the dial – for the Viennese sense of time, in which the second does not count.
-
Carl Suchy & Söhne have set the goal and regard each of our timepieces as a precious work of art. Simplicity is key. The dedication to flowing pure forms has been continued throughout the collections.
