Singer Reimagined July 2023

  • The idea that started Singer Reimagined was reimagining one of the most iconic watch movements from that specific era: the Automatic Chronograph.

1969 will be remembered as the launch of the first three iconic, automatic chronographs. Chronomatic, El Primero and Caliber 6139 were publicly launched that very year.

  • 1969 will also be remembered as a year rich in incredible events, stories, discoveries, with culture-altering events like Woodstock, the Moon landing, and the first Concord flight, just to mention a few. A year that became iconic and meaningful for many reasons.

At Singer Reimagined we decided to celebrate that fantastic year by introducing a new product line named 1969: 1969 CHRONOGRAPH and 1969 TIMER.

  • The case size of the new Singer 1969 collection is 40mm. Tapering from 22 to 18mm, the new bracelet, incorporating an adjustable fitting system housed in the folding clasp, is perfected for the widest array of wrists. The micro-adjustment mechanism, with 21 steps to precisely adapt the length of the bracelet by up to 2cm, allows an optimal fit, be it for gents’ or ladies’ wrists, without having to take the watch off.

  • The stainless-steel bracelet is composed of two contrasting elements. The edgy brushed “H” links are designed after racetracks’ curbs shape, providing a contrasted and vibrant effect. In contraposition, the rounded polished center links bring smooth reflections and sparkles of light.

The brushed sloping facets are complemented by polished chamfers, visually extending the case profile with polished edges – a brand signature feature.

  • Executed in a very deep and precious piano-black lacquer finish, dials are enriched with an applied signature golden crown ring, adding an iconic and unexpected detail which complements the sobriety and functional minimalism of the graphics.

1969 Timer represents the ultimate example of complexity distilled to its purest form. An intricate zero-reset system combined with a flyback device is the hidden technical gem behind this three-hands timepiece. A simple push of the button at 2 o’clock allows for lightning fast elapsed- time measurement using the central second hand of your watch.

  • 1969 Chronograph is the quintessential expression of Singer Reimagined high-watchmaking approach, featuring the most recent version of the famous Agengraphe caliber. A new time display, enhanced readability and the award-winning 60 hours chronograph function taking central stage on the dial. All of this condensed to only 40mm.

These elements are magnified by a domed glass-box sapphire crystal, visually extruding the dial out of its metal frame.

  • Singer Reimagined is an award-winning high-watchmaking company, 14 based in Geneva. It is part of Singer Group, the Californian-based luxury brand that has become globally renowned for its bespoke restorations of the Porsche 911.

Singer is guided by the philosophy Everything is Important. The brand has become synonymous with the concept of Reimagining - bringing together iconic design with twenty-first century engineering and material science.

  • “When it came to designing the new Singer 1969 collection, I really wanted these watches to provide the feeling that they have been designed back in time. They are a tribute to the timepieces I love, a love letter to an era that is profoundly meaningful to me and that has inspired and driven so many aspects of my current professional and private life. But at the same time, they are a manifesto of today state of the art technology and quintessential high-watchmaking refinement deployed by Singer.”, Marco Borraccino, CEO and co-founder of Singer Reimagined.

  • Singer has become globally renowned for bespoke restorations of Porsche 911 sports cars – each carried out on behalf of the car’s owner. For the Hertz Team Jota new Porsche 963, Singer has designed a unique race livery that celebrates the centenary year of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a golden age of endurance racing.

The design of the Track1 – Endurance Edition references this latest motorsport adventure. Only 24 watches will be made.

  • For the occasion, the award-winning, signature central chronograph movement, the Agengraphe, has been further developed to enable a dedicated 24-hour chrono function, making this watch the perfect chronometric tool for the most prestigious endurance races.

The watch’s lightweight titanium case is inspired by the use of titanium in the race car. The smooth golden ZRN coating of the case and the black details (bezel, winding crown and push buttons) complements the car’s livery.

  • The Track1 – SKLT CARBON Edition SR009 flows in developing the skeleton dial collection, allowing the full beauty of its revolutionary movement to be unveiled.

Limited in 25 numbered pieces and crafted from stratified forged carbon, this architectural timepiece was engineered with the intent of reducing mass, enhancing lightness and opening wide on the movement.

The novelty is also the Singer caoutchouc strap fitting the dynamic spirit of the chronograph and embodying the pursuit of lightweight and technicity.

  • Shaped as a structural chassis, the open-work dial reveals the signature minutes wheel below, highlighted in a golden finish, to match the aesthetic of this special watch. Underneath the minutes wheel lies the automatic rotor itself.

Through the open-work dial of the Track1 – SKLT Edition, these vital elements of the movement are finally exposed and visible, revealing the secret of our automatic system.

The black openwork strap reinterprets the iconic rivet perforations showing both the vintage style and energetic look.

  • The Track1 SKLT Edition is the first watch from Singer Reimagined with a skeleton dial, allowing the full beauty of its revolutionary movement to be unveiled. For the first time.

Five alternating, hand-applied finishes are used on to highlight the dynamic shapes of this watch made in 18k yellow gold.

The circular-brushed upper case surface creates vibrant reflections. Contrasting hand-polished edges frame the sleek profile of the watch and highlight the horizontal brushing used for the case sides.

  • The Flytrack collection, designed to once again reimagine the chronograph, is a celebration of the practicality of a chronograph combined with a specific calibrated scale.

The matte black velvet-touch dial is featuring the triple tachymetric scale, allowing measurement of average speeds from 20 to 300 Km/h.

  • Left: The Barista scale allowing easy measurement of the extraction time for your favorite coffee style prepared with your espresso machine. A single touch of the pusher instantly reset to zero the central sweeping second-hand. Releasing the pusher sets the second handin motion, allowing instant measurement of short intervals of time (60 seconds)

Right: The Singer Flytrack Telemeter allows easy calculation of the distance between you and an event you can both see and hear – like the storm front producing lightning and thunder.

  • The Track1 Emirates Edition has a black matte ceramic-aluminum case with golden details. The restrained, matte finishing perfectly contrasts with the golden, polished titanium details obtained through ZrN treatment.

The chronograph registers take central stage on the dial, surrounded by a golden rehaut, 43 mm in diameter. The barrel-shaped case features an ergonomic shape in subtle, black matte finishes. The start stop pushers are located on either side of the case for ease of operations. The crown is seamlessly integrated into the base band. Form combined with function.

  • The Track1 – Bold Edition is showcased in a ceramic-aluminum black case, crafted by electro-plasma oxidation. The surface layer of a special, aerospace-specification aluminum alloy is transformed into ceramic. The result of this high-tech process is a super-black case combining exceptional scratch, wear and corrosion resistance with the lightness of its aluminum core.

Limited in 25 pieces this new model embodies boldness at its best.

  • The Track1 – Flamboyant Edition is showcased in our 43mm signature lightweight grade 5 titanium case with a new circular brushed finishing.

The dial showcases a deep and radiant red color thanks to the alternation of sunray and circular brushed finishing. In addition to that, the high contrast of orange hands ensures optimal legibility while the tachymeter flange creates a clear separation between the peripheral time of day and the central elapsed time.

  • The Track 1 – Geneva Edition is showcased in a rare light yellow shade (1N) subtly finished with alternating brushed and polished surfaces. The design cues clearly hark from a golden age, namely the 1970s.

The dial features a new layout with a unique large central chronograph counter. Its pure, minimal design allows for a radical focus on functionality as it should for a stop-watch. The chronograph indications and chapter ring have been moved to the outer part the dial, leaving the central area free for the Singer logo and script ‘Automatic Chronograph Track1’.

  • Form follows function in Marco Borraccino vision and designs.

“I’ve been into art and creation since an early age. I have always been interested in the creative sparkle generated by the design process. To me, creation is a process involving all senses, aiming to find the perfect alchemy between different elements despite the object you are working on.

In watchmaking, automotive and industrial design more widely, the 60’s and 70’s offer to my eyes the richest and widest panorama of iconic and timeless examples of good design. New technologies appeared, new materials were introduced, innovation was a daily matter as much as in terms of functionality as in aesthetic pleasure.”
