Taking the chance of the team visiting, we proudly hosted the preview of Friedrich II Remontoir The Lavish Attic Edition, to celebrate our 9 years of partnership.

Limited in 9 pieces, the edition challenges Lang & Heyne in every way. We are happy with the final design.

Lang & Heyne has offered no black enamel dial due to the zero tolerance of flaw. From this limited edition, a new state of the art technology gives the possibility to cut massive enamel in slices.

The face of the Friedrich II Remontoir is created by a two-part enamel dial. The idea is to fix two of these discs on a metal support, thus obtaining an enamel dial with a lower small second.

Since the highly polished discs cannot be burned again, they are printed with high-quality varnish and the indexes are hand- lined with superluminova.

The lancet hands indicate the time extremely accurate and are easy to read even by night thanks to their superluminova filling.

Underneath the dial a newly developed Remontoir movement, the caliber Cal. VI-I. It is equipped with a complicated mechanism to improve accuracy, the Remontoir. This so-called “constant force mechanism” compensates for the decreasing force of the tension spring.

Medium-hard titanium of purity grade 2 is used to manufacture the movement plate, gear bridge, lever bridge and balance cock. The chamfers have to be polished very laboriously with wood and polishing paste.

Technically, titanium offers greater strength and corrosion resistance. For aesthetic reasons, the otherwise blue annealed screws were replaced with purple ones to match the warm gray of the titanium.

The earth and moon disk is cut in gold and enameled with the “champlevé” technique. The model is completed with the day/night indication in a polished gold chaton near the center.

For the CHAMPLEVÉ technique, the surface is carved out to form pits in which enamel is fired, leaving the original metal exposed. Several processes of pickling and enameling followed by grinding flatten the whole dial. One final glaze bake seals the enamel.

The back of Friedrich III slightly convex sapphire glass provides a view at CALIBER VI. The design of the trigonal bridge has a stable rate and is once again an architectural masterpiece but unmistakably a Lang & Heyne.

As the only tourbillon model, Anton features a huge flying minute-Tourbillon Ø11,1 mm.
